Experience Overview

Continuing on with a student’s progression to master the art of long range hunting, this event is built around training and hunting Aoudad in West Texas. The area we hunt offers free range, low fence Aoudad (also known as Barbary Sheep) hunting in open and rough, but accessible desert terrain that often presents extended range shot opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE

This hunt experience includes advanced in-field training drills during the day with hunting taking place in the morning and evening during prime hours. The style of hunting, terrain, and good eyesight of sheep lend themselves well to long range hunting. Mid-day shooting drills allow participants to shoot on the ranch at various ranges from 400-1000 yards to verify data and build confidence in wind calls and their long range rifle systems.

All applicants for our training courses must be US citizens not legally barred from possessing firearms. For non-US citizens interested in a training course, please call us directly (307) 296-7300.

All event attendees must complete our liability and media waiver.

Booking Requirements:

To secure an event date, a deposit payment is required. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the earliest event date.

Student Cancellation:

Train and Compete:

If you need to cancel a training or competition more than sixty (60) days prior to the earliest event date, your deposit will be refunded. If you cancel a training or competition less than sixty (60) days, but more than thirty (30) days prior to the earliest event date, you can rebook the training or competition for an available alternate date. If you cancel a training or competition less than thirty (30) days prior to the earliest event date, your deposit is forfeited and non-refundable.

Hunt:

If you cancel a hunting event (other than an African hunt) more than one hundred twenty (120) days from the start of the hunt, your deposit is fully refundable. If cancelled less than one hundred twenty (120) days from the start of the hunt, the deposit is forfeited.

Gunwerks reserves the right to change or amend these policies at any time.

Student Rebooking:

If you need to rebook a class MORE than thirty (30) days before your scheduled class date, you may rebook (transfer to another class) without any fee. 

If the rebooking is to a more expensive class, you are responsible for the price difference. If the rebooking is to a less expensive class, you will receive a refund of the price difference.

Gunwerks Class Cancellation:

In rare circumstances, Gunwerks may need to cancel a class. If this occurs, you will be notified as soon as possible and given the option of either a full refund or a move to another course of the same value.

  • Long Range Rifle System capable of shooting <1 MOA and with data out to 1300 yards

  • 80 Rounds of Ammunition

  • Personal Hearing Protection

  • Laser Range Finder

  • Bipods, Tripod or Shooting Sticks

  • Rifle Sling

  • Rear Shooting Bag

  • Wind Reading Device (Anemometer)

  • Hunting Pack

  • Knife

  • Texas Hunting License (5 Day Exotic Special with Start Date the first day of your hunt)

  • Smartphone

  • Clothes suitable for hunting in any weather

  • Hygiene Materials

  • Sunscreen

  • Binoculars

  • Note Taking Equipment



Lodging:

Your destination City is Marathon, Texas. 4 days of lodging and meals is included in the price.














Flights:

We recommend that you fly into Midland, TX and rent a vehicle to drive to Marathon, TX which is located 165 miles south (2.5 hour drive) where you will meet up with a Gunwerks team member. From there you will caravan with the class down to the ranch where you will be staying and hunting which is located approximately 50 miles south of Marathon, TX.

Car Rentals:

Please make car rental plans with your flight arrangements. Gunwerks does not offer transportation to and from the facility for the course.

Student Cancellation

Hunt:
If you cancel a hunting event (other than an African hunt) more than one hundred twenty (120) days from the start of the hunt, your deposit can be moved to another class (not refundable). If canceled less than one hundred twenty (120) days from the start of the hunt, all payments toward the class are forfeited and non-refundable.

Gunwerks Class Cancellation:
In rare circumstances, Gunwerks may need to cancel a class. If this occurs, you will be notified as soon as possible and given the option of either a full refund or a move to another course of the same value. Gunwerks reserves the right to change or amend these policies at any time.

Deposit/Final Payment Schedule

  • A 50% deposit is required for reservation

  • Balance due 120 days prior to a hunt event to maintain your reservation - don't worry, we'll remind you when it's time!
