Experience Overview

Our Combined Level 101 / 201 Combined Foundation and Advanced Ballistics course compresses the content from four days into three days. We normally only teach this course at offsite venues, where everyone stays in house and time normally lost to commuting and lodging can be applied to training.

The main focus of the L101 LR Ballistics Foundation course curriculum is to teach our clients the core knowledge and techniques to select and setup a long range shooting system. This course focuses particularly on External Ballistics and the necessary skills to create and use a trued ballistic profile. This course is designed to apply to any and all shooting equipment, not just the specialized Gunwerks systems that are exclusively used during shooting exercises.

The main focus of the L201 Advanced LR Ballistics course curriculum is to teach our clients the core knowledge and techniques to make the shot in field conditions. This course focuses particularly on range and wind measurements, advanced external ballistics corrections and the equipment and techniques required. Students will be introduced to terminal ballistics and cartridge/bullet selection theory. This course is designed to apply to any and all shooting equipment, not just the specialized Gunwerks systems that are exclusively used during shooting exercises.

All shooting equipment is provided by Gunwerks. This allows the student to focus on the core class content, and leave equipment concerns to the instructor. There is a “rifle and equipment rental”, which is required as part of registration.

Preparation

While there are no prerequisites to attend this course, we recommend attending L102 Marksmanship Fundamentals, or watching our Marksmanship Fundamentals Video Series to maximize your learning experience.

All shooting equipment is provided by Gunwerks.  This allows the student to focus on the core class content, and leave equipment concerns to the instructor.

Continuing Training

For the next step in your journey, if you are a dedicated hunter, we recommend attending the L202 Marksmanship Proficiency and L301 Mountain Shooting Techniques. If your focus is more on long range shooting we recommend the L302 ELR course.
